Rebuilding a 4.5mtr Tornado RIB
The boat as first seen. I believe it to be a 1998 Tornado 4.5mtr Rib,It was fitted with an old yamaha 55hp engine which was wrecked,It had to be cut off the transom. |
the First thing was to decided on the helm position, as the original one was not suited it was removed using an angle grinder with a 4'' cutting disk. |
The new Jockey sea made from marine ply, to be coated with epoxy, seat is being made by marshell marine textiles, to be ready next week |
Below; The next job was to turn the boat over and repair the hull, It was all small scratches and scrapes, the hull was first sanded down.
Half the Hull sanded!! took all morning, ready to be filled |
The cracks filled and ready to be sanded | The boat washed down to remove dust after sanding. |
The hull was given 4 coats of primer
After the old helm position was removed the floor needed to be removed, the old thread master was removed using a 4'' scraper and a heat gun. |
the heat gun took most of the threadmaster away but left alot of glue on deck, i removed this by sanding it off using a finishing sander, the deck was then filled to make it perfectly smooth as the previous owner when fitting the threadmaster scratched the deck to make the glue stick. |
